I was online a few days ago checking out one of these sites, called Be Naughty, supposedly one of the most popular casual dating websites on the Internet, and reputably their company has a database of over 13 million profiles on it and is registering 13,000 + new people a day!!! I could not believe that, seems a bit on the high side, but on digging a little deeper it seems that this company is a PLC (public limited company) and is listed on the London Stock Exchange with a board of very highly regarded business people and investors and worth a small fortune! (in fact, looking at their figures, it looks like a top tip for the stock market if you're in to that) Definitely not a fly by night company. So it seems this casual dating scene is really taking hold. I'm going to sign up to this one and report my findings here, so check back to see the results soon.

Mainstream online dating is probably what most people think of when they think of dating on the Internet, it is the traditional dating service for people looking for a relationship and an absolutely massive market . This is what more and more people are turning to to find there next love, sites like cupid.com, and, flirt.com. These websites make a lot of money every year and it's clear to see why, I bet everybody knows somebody who is dating online or someone who is in a relationship with someone they met online. The people who are dating online are going on more dates a month than are parents generation would have dreamed about going on in a year and why, because again, the market place for potential partners has shifted from the local pub, club or workplace to the whole nation, with no time limits and no-one to watch them as they do the flirting. It's surprisng just how many men are petrified of approaching women, well online it's a whole lot easier because that initial contact is not done face to face, this lessens the built in fear most people have of rejection, although anyone will tell you there is still that same great buzz when you score a date! As the online dating scene has grown and become more mainstream over the years to the point where it is at now, it has developed many spin offs such as casual dating, spiritual dating, niche dating, compatibility dating - it is interesting to see where it is going to go next. One area of growth at the moment is mobile dating, which in my opinion is going to take fast flirting and casual dating to a whole new level, we have seen the massive growth of mobile apps in the last 2 years and now most people have a smartphone, whether it's iPhone or android, that's permanently connected to the Internet and just perfect for fast flirting and arranging dates!
